About Erasmus

Erasmus+ Program

The Erasmus+ Program is a new program implemented by the European Union in the fields of education and youth, replacing the Lifelong Learning and Youth Programs implemented between 2007 and 2013. While primarily based on project activities, it also includes individual activities.

The Erasmus+ Program, which will be implemented between 2014 and 2020, aims to help individuals, regardless of their age or educational background, acquire new skills, strengthen their personal development, and increase their employment opportunities.

The Erasmus+ Program encompasses the fields of education, training, youth, and sports. The primary reason for naming the Erasmus+ Program this way is to capitalize on the recognition of the previous Erasmus Program, which is more publicly recognized and strongly associated with education abroad and European cooperation.

Which Areas Will the Erasmus+ Program Support?

The activities supported under the Erasmus+ Program are grouped under three Main Actions (AE, Key Action, KA) and two Special Actions:

Main Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals

Main Action 2: Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices

Main Action 3: Support for Policy Reform

Special Action 1: Support for Sports

Special Action 2: Jean Monnet Program
