Forestry and Forest Products Program
- Program Objective
The aim of this program is to train technicians who are equipped with ecological, economic, social, and technical knowledge, capable of using this knowledge in the sustainable management, protection, and operation of forest resources, able to evaluate forests as ecosystems with a scientific approach, possessing communication skills, and suitable for teamwork.
- Physical Facilities of the Program
Educational activities are carried out in two classrooms, each with a capacity of 40 students. Additionally, the school's laboratories, basic measurement tools, and microscopes are used in relevant courses.
- Graduates and Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Forestry and Forest Products Program can work in technical and administrative positions at institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, such as the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, the General Directorate of Forestry, as well as at organizations like the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, the General Directorate of Highways, and the State Planning Organization.
In the private sector, they can work as technical staff in private forestry offices, landscaping companies, private nurseries, and other private institutions involved in forestry-related work and operations.
Additionally, they may take part in survey and inventory studies within projects related to nature, environment, and forestry prepared by various non-governmental organizations.
- Diploma and Vertical Transfer Opportunities
Graduates of the program can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM and transfer to departments such as Forest Engineering, Forest Industry Engineering, and Wood Products Industry Engineering.
