Forestry and Forest Products Program

Program Purpose

To train technicians who are equipped with ecological, economic, social and technical skills, who can use this information in the sustainable management, protection and operation of forest resources, who can evaluate the forest as an ecosystem with a scientific understanding, who have communication skills and who are prone to teamwork.

Physical Facilities of the Program

Education and training activities are carried out in 2 classrooms of the program, each with a capacity of 40 people. In addition, our school laboratories, simple measuring instruments and microscopes are also used in relevant courses.

About Graduates and Employment

Graduates of the Forestry and Forest Products program perform technical and administrative duties in central and provincial organizations affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, General Directorate of Forestry) and institutions such as the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, General Directorate of Highways, and State Planning Organization.

They can also work as technical staff in private forestry offices, landscape companies, private nurseries and other private institutions that carry out forestry-related work and operations.

They can also take part in surveys and inventory studies in nature, environment and forestry-based projects prepared by various non-governmental organizations.

Diploma and Vertical Transfer Opportunities

Students who graduate from the program can transfer to Forest Engineering, Forest Industrial Engineering and Woodwork Industrial Engineering Departments by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by ÖSYM.
