We gathered to commemorate the founder of our Republic, the leader of the Turkish nation's struggle for independence, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The film "Atatürk 1881-1919" that we watched with our university students is a documentary that covers an important part of Atatürk's life and the great struggle he gave to save the Turkish nation. This film reveals that Atatürk was not only a military leader, but also a visionary statesman, a leader dedicated to the freedom of his people.

We remember all our martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with mercy and gratitude.
