Mudurnu Süreyya Astarcı Vocational School and Mudurnu Süreyya Astarcı Youth Center jointly organized an exemplary event on December 3rd World Disabled Day. On this special day, we established a heartfelt bond by visiting Özel Adult Special Education and Rehabilitation Center with the students of our Vocational School.
During the event, our students spent enjoyable and meaningful hours with the individuals in the rehabilitation center. We created a joyful and creative environment by touching their imagination with face painting and hand printing works. The resulting works were a reflection of not only colors but also love and sincerity. Thanks to these works, our students both developed a sense of social responsibility and accumulated very valuable memories about life.
In our event, our Vocational School Principal, Lecturer Mehmet Kadir Torun, led the students and emphasized the importance of this meaningful day once again. Torun emphasized the value of the event by saying, “The best way to overcome obstacles is to approach each other with love and share life. Today, we gave this message together in the strongest way.” Merve Sönmez, a teacher at the Youth Center, was appreciated for her organizational contributions and guidance at the event. Merve Sönmez said, "The sensitivity of our youth in such events makes us proud. It is a great pleasure to see that we can touch the world of each individual."
This meeting, which took place at Özel Adult Special Education and Rehabilitation Center, left an unforgettable mark not only on our students but also on the individuals at the rehabilitation center. Joyful laughter and beautiful moments shared best reflected the spirit of the event.
At the end of the event, our students crowned this meaningful day by reminding us once again of the power of love that overcomes all obstacles. With the sincere contributions of our volunteer students and the warm welcome of the rehabilitation center individuals, we made December 3rd World Disabled Day even more special.
