Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Mudurnu Süreyya Astarcı Vocational School Forestry Program students carried out an exemplary social responsibility project within the scope of March 21 Forestry Day and Forestry Week. In the event organized within the scope of the “Volunteering Activities” course, a comprehensive information presentation was made for the students of Mimar İzzet Baysal Technical and Industrial Vocational High School.

The event, in which Mudurnu SAMYO students Yusuf Er, İsmail Can Acar, Turgay Demirbaş and Umut Can Yerlikaya volunteered, started at 15:00 on Friday, March 21, 2025 and ended at 16:00. During the event, the students conveyed the place of forests in the ecosystem, the importance of sustainable forestry, nature conservation principles and many topics related to the forestry profession with a simple, impressive and visually supported presentation.

The presentation was carried out in an interactive manner; high school students both received information and found answers to their questions. Thanks to case studies, visual presentations and narratives related to current environmental problems, young individuals’ interest in and awareness of nature was reinforced.

Dr. Lecturer Orhan Kelleci, who conducted the event, expressed his satisfaction with this meaningful work of his volunteer students with the following words:

“Forestry is not only a profession, but also a responsibility towards nature and society. It is a great source of pride for us that our students internalize this responsibility and contribute to society voluntarily. With such events, they both reinforce their professional knowledge and grow up as sensitive individuals with high environmental awareness. Every piece of information transferred to the younger generations is a step taken for nature.”

As Mudurnu SAMYO, we continue to support our students to act with a sense of social responsibility in addition to their academic and professional development. We wholeheartedly congratulate all our students who contributed to this valuable event and all our stakeholders who contributed.
